The Chiurazzi Foundry of Naples, since 1870

Founded in Naples in 1870 by Gennaro Chiurazzi, the foundry became one of the leading makers of bronze replicas of ancient works, especially from Pompeii and Herculaneum.

The company continues

Following the conclusion of insolvency proceedings, the company continues as Chiurazzi Internazionale S.r.l., the company founded on the heritage of the Chiurazzi foundry and steward of the Chiurazzi name.

Today our work is to document historic Chiurazzi works, to promote the Chiurazzi name, and to help owners of Chiurazzi sculptures document and sell their works.

From Naples to collections around the world

The foundry built one of the richest collections of moulds and offered reproductions of statues, armour, mosaics and vessels from the Naples Museum and other European museums. Its clients included museums, schools, private collectors and hotels. In the 1970s Chiurazzi provided replicas of sculptures from the Villa dei Papiri for J. Paul Getty’s villa in Malibu.

Three historic finishes

The foundry’s 1929 catalogue offered its reproductions in three finishes.
