Catalogue Raisonné

A documented registry of historic works cast by the Chiurazzi foundry of Naples.

What is the catalogue raisonné?

A catalogue raisonné is a systematic, documented record of the works of an artist or workshop.

We are building one for the Chiurazzi foundry: a registry recording surviving Chiurazzi works, their foundry marks and inscriptions, and what is known of their history.

Why it matters to owners

  • A documented record of your work, its marks and its history.
  • A contribution to the shared record of the Chiurazzi foundry and its output.
  • A clearer history to pass on to heirs or to present to a future buyer.

  2. The dimensions of the work, including any base.
  3. Anything known about its history: previous owners, invoices, letters, labels or exhibition records.
